2 cups cooked black beans
1/2 cup vital wheat gluten
1/2 cup plain whole wheat bread crumbs
1 tsp chile powder
1/2 tsp cumin
1 tbs tomato paste (or ketchup)
1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro
2 cloves garlic
1/2 small onion
~2 tbs olive oil
1. Mash the beans.
2. Add the next seven ingredients. Then grate garlic and onion into the mixture. Mix with fork. Knead with hands until uniform.
3. Form into patties and fry in oil.
